The DMS 8.1 Interface

DMS 8.1 uses the Microsoft Access 2007 or 2010 runtime (*for Microsoft

Access 2010, 32-bit version only).

The navigation structure is based upon the command tabs in the ribbon.

The example below shows the Command Tabs along the top of the ribbon;

they include: Manage, Local Site Settings, Reports, Import, Tools, Por-

table and Help.

In the example below, the Manage tab is selected, showing Manage tab

options in the Manage tab ribbon.

When you select a Command Tab, a ribbon appears underneath the Com-

mand Tab. Along the ribbon, options related to the tab appear. Each set of

grouped options contains selections that open application forms as

Tabbed windows in the Work Area of the screen. If you don’t want the

full ribbon always displayed, click the Customize Quick Access Toolbar

button to the right of the Office button to minimize the ribbon. When you

minimize the ribbon, it only appears when you select a Command tab.
